Rob's Rambling

Uncle Zuma in the news again

Unless you've been living under a rock, you will have heard about the admittedly tenuous story being run by The Star and Business Day. Having established your lack of rock habitation, you will probably have noticed the resulting shitstorm from the opposition parties and other "concerned citizens".

This whole thing is beginning to smell of the usual South African issue with politics near election time - the running of the largest Southern African bandwagon machine. Today this is the cause - tomorrow it may not be but the Opposition parties deliberately polarize themselves in a desperate effort to distance themselves from the ANC.
o? Of our democracy? Lately a lot of people have been talking about voting for another party simply to "not vote or the ANC".

That's crazy! Vote if you feel you need to (I encourage it, it's your right and responsibility), vote if you think Barney is telling you to but don't vote out of spite. What a terrible waste of democratic power.

You may feel the ANC is the most evil party in the world and that South Africa is fast approaching Zimbabwe but voting for another party just to mess with them and especially talking about it to everyone with ears is bordering on irresponsible. It perpetuates this idiotic mentality that the opposition parties have latched on to and contributes to the reason they would say the sky is green simply because JZ might hint that it's blue.
