Pixels to paper

One of the problems with having a blog is finding content. Some people seem to have a knack for it and some don't. I fit into the latter category rather than the former.

It seems that every day I think of at least twenty things I should or could blog about and yet when it comes time to put pixels to paper I come up completely blank. That's really the sticking point for me I think - not so much the ideas for a blog but rather the complete action of actually generating words to fill this nasty white void. It sucks at me, making me feel inadequate; somehow too small for the task of writing.

I have nothing profound to say, nothing that will perk up your day or give you a triumphant epiphany so grand that you remember it for the rest of your life. All I have is simple words for a simple blog - nothing to write home about.

Perhaps this is something deep inside all of us - a struggle to become adequate to whichever task we've assigned ourselves. Is it possible that something as small as this eludes us simply because we've become so used to underachieving that everything is a fight? I feel obscurely proud when I grind out a blog post. I really shouldn't - children that I teach write more than this every day and yet the feeling remains.

Something to think about as you plunder the intertubes for your daily feed of information and anonymous traffic - you're not as confident as you think you are but you're doing very well to hide it.
